Data, Maps and Real-time Observation The goal of the Long Island Sound Integrated Coastal Observing System is the development of a sustained capability to observe the Long Island Sound ecosystem and an adequate capability to understand and predict its response to natural and anthropogenic changes (http://lisicos.uconn.edu/). The Long Island Sound Resource Center was established in 1988 as a central clearinghouse for information and data related to the Sound. This web site is an ongoing project to provide access to data and information about the Sound (http://www.lisrc.uconn.edu/). MYSound provides comprehensive, real-time water quality, weather and wave data from Long Island Sound, its harbors and estuaries (http://www.mysound.uconn.edu/index.html). Ocean Technology National Underwater Research, Technology and Education Center. NURTEC's mission is to facilitate scientific discovery, support conservation efforts, and raise public awareness of the complexity and importance of the oceans and Great Lakes through underwater exploration, research, technology and education (http://www.nurtec.uconn.edu/).
